You may see the seal on our website, and you may even see the acronym when researching bulk bag distributors and manufacturers, but do you know what it stands for?

FIBCA stands for the Flexible Intermediate Bulk Container Association, the largest consortium of FIBC suppliers and manufacturers globally. This organization holds two annual conferences that serve as a crucial connection point for member companies.

Who Makes Up FIBCA?

FIBCA comprises over 100 member companies, primarily bulk bag manufacturers and distributors from the United States, with members globally. To join FIBCA, companies need to:

  • Be involved in the bulk bag industry as a manufacturer or vendor.
  • Hold at least $1,000,000 in liability insurance to protect against product-related claims.
  • Pay a one-time $500 fee and a $2,500 annual membership fee.

For a complete list of FIBCA members, visit the members section.

Scale & Mission

Operating on five continents in 26 countries, FIBCA has served the bulk bag industry for over 40 years. The organization continues to grow alongside its member companies. FIBCA's mission focuses on two primary objectives:

  1. Encouraging customers to use FIBCs to maximize profitability, safety, and sustainability.
  2. Educating members about regulations and standards, promoting FIBC products, and being a robust voice for the bulk bag industry with global regulatory agencies.

FIBCA is committed to safety, having established industry standards for Safe Handling Guidelines.

Impact & Importance

While FIBCA's direct impact is challenging to quantify, its importance to the bulk bag industry is significant. FIBCA enables bulk bag companies to:

  • Collaborate and share knowledge on industry trends and emerging trends
  • Innovative new products and product enhancements
  • Critical regulations worldwide

Staying updated on these rules is essential in today's globalized market. The organization also provides an advisory board to enhance communication between members and FIBC consumers.

When considering FIBCs, look for the FIBCA seal. Membership indicates that a company has undergone a thorough vetting process, ensuring that it is a trusted provider of bulk bags.
