If you have been to Sam's Club or Costco, you know that there are many benefits to buying products in bulk. Buying FIBCs is no different. If you are buying $250,000 or more in bulk bags a year, you are considered a large buyer and are in a unique position to leverage your annual business.

Let's review 3 essential questions that as a bulk buyer, have potential to save you significant money. For regular updates, subscribe to our blog by filling out the "Subscribe to our blog updates" form to the right.

#1 - Can I get a discount for ordering a full container at a time?

When purchasing Flexible Intermediate Bulk Containers in bulk, just like purchasing any product in bulk, you have more buying power and in many cases, you can negotiate a discount. You can also reduce your overall shipping costs by ordering a full container instead of multiple smaller shipments over a period.

Other potential opportunities for receiving bulk discounts on bags is purchasing by the pallet. Some suppliers have been known to offer discounts for ordering bags by the pallet. Don't ever hesitate to ask for a discount when buying bags in bulk. Although you may find your supplier doesn't offer pallet discounts, it never hurts to ask!

#2 - Can I order the full container, and have it shipped direct to me?

Drop shipping/having full containers of bags shipped directly to your business is another great way to save money on bags and specifically, shipping costs. By having your bags shipped directly to your place of business, you can also cut down transit time from your supplier's warehouse to yours. By getting your bags faster, in many cases you can minimize business/employee downtime.

#3 - Do you offer any warehousing options?

Many bulk bag suppliers offer warehousing options to their loyal clients. This can be a very attractive and valuable service as it allows you to save your warehouse space for essential operations, equipment, etc. and utilize your suppliers warehouse for storing your unused bags.

Once the bags are safely stored in your supplier's warehouse, you can pull them as needed and, in most cases, the supplier can offer you same day shipping to make sure that your bags arrive to your facility on-time, minimizing business/employee downtime.
